Let us talk Beer! Well Beverage companies with EBITDA or the desire for an exit strategy!

Beer Market

Craft beer companies are hot and I am interested as well as some limited partners and private equity friends.  Green Flash was just an startup when I moved to San Diego and now the are number 49 nationwide in the US!  I have few industry experts at my fingertips and would enjoy speaking 15 minutes or 2 day strategy meeting in DC or SoCal!  The Brewers Association estimates that craft brands more than doubled their share of the $100 billion beer market, to 11%, in the past four years, while sales of mass-market beer stagnated.  In 2015, 19 craft-beer deals worth $13 billion were announced in the U.S., according to research firm Dealogic. AB InBev, MillerCoors, Constellation Brands, and Heineken—which together control 81% of the U.S. market—all announced deals.

  1. Hey JD, I know you’re focused on Craft Beer here with EBITDA but if you or anyone you know might be interested in Premium Artisanal Mescal our industry is ripe for a disruptor brand!

We are partnering with a Producer in Mexico to produce a new brand of Artisan Mezcal to be introduced to the U.S. market. As of right now there are around 2800 brands of Tequila in the U.S. but only 100 brands of Mezcal and of those not one is yet a household name.

“It feels almost contradictory to describe a spirit that has existed for at least 500 years as “trendy,” but mezcal’s global rise to popularity certainly indicates that bartenders and consumers alike are more enthusiastic about Mexico’s smoky personality than ever before. Between 2007 and 2011, mezcal sales grew by nearly 48 percent according to Mexican government data, an astounding increase for a spirit that exhibits some of the world’s most aggressive and, at times, alienating flavors.”

Our new brand of premium Mezcal has been created to capitalize on a boom sector of the beverage market currently full of many small unmemorable products by producing an incredible, premium defining, household, easily recognizable and identifiable brand of Mezcal.

Comparing with growth trends in the Tequila Industry, Mezcal is on its way to surpassing its cousin in the 100% agave, premium categories. As a pioneer in the industry, Our new brand of premium Mezcal has the potential to effectively carve-out a recognizable identity and loyal following, thus commanding market dominance and increased security.

For those that do have the luxury of investing in brand it has the potential to pay off dramatically…looking at our industry alone with the $100M+ acquisition of tequila brands like Casa Noble, Don Juan, Cabo Wabo at 11X EBITDA!…the big players are snatching up well-branded spirits in the category fast and furiously.

Find me on Facebook for more info.

    Thanks,
    Steve Foley
